My Favourite Websites...
www.michiwawa.ca
This site was created by a past Wawa resident George Burns. He has a keen interest in Wawa's history and was instrumental in initiating the 50th Anniversary Reunion for Michipicoten High School in 2004. George has a great collection of old photos on this site and has also included a number of books on Wawa's history for sale through PayPal.

This site gets a lot of hits...and not only by those who are still residing in Wawa. Brenda Grundt and her family put a lot of work into keeping this site current and accurate. You never know what you are going to find here...
http://www.wawaculture.com
This dynamic site was initiated during the Wawa Cultural Mapping project in September 2011 and provides readers with a great look at all the wonderful cultural assets found in Wawa's back yard. These resources were collected during the project and submitted by the residents of the community young and old who are proud of all the wonderful cultural resources that are uniquely Wawa.

This is the site of the Economic Development Corporation of Wawa. These folks are passionate about our region, appreciate all that we have to offer, and are a wealth of information when it comes to starting a business enterprise in Northern Ontario. I am grateful to them for their encouragement, sharing of resources and constructive feedback.

This website was created in the fall of 2011 during the Wawa Cultural Mapping Project. It was designed to inform residents about the project and encourage their input. Designed by Chris Benka it is elegant, simple and very effective.
http://gitcheegoomee.com
Gitchee Goomee's are a growing concern in Wawa thanks to artisan Spike Mills. They are appearing everywhere and spreading across Canada & the U.S. I dare you to check out all his past creations and not be drawn to one or more of these unique works of art!
http://www.wawa.cc
This is the official site of the town of Wawa. It has a good collection of info to look through if you are not familiar with our community and also offers residents some basic information.

For those interested in exploring the Wawa landscape, whether by foot or by water, check out Wawa's national treasure at the mouth of the Michipicoten River on Lake Superior. Hone your paddling skills, explore and ancient river route, enjoy a guided hike or learn about our Superior natural and cultural history. Or just hang out at Rock Island Lodge.
