Angus Bethune

Picture
We decided on Angus Bethune as his story represents the interwoven threads of that Canadian fabric that continues to tie our stories together.

The Bethune name holds iconic significance in the Canadian story which includes fur traders, native Canadian wives, explorers, men of religion, men of science and education, and a legendary doctor who is beloved by one of the world's largest populations.

To not include the Bethune-Wawa connection in the Heritage Doors would be unpatriotic at the very least and at the most, ignorant of the far-reaching role Michipicoten Post and its diverse residents and factors held in Wawa's rich tapestry of tales.
